Baby Blankets

Baby blankets are essential items and were one of the first things I bought when preparing my hospital bag. Whether it’s for keeping your little ones cosy and warm in the colder months, a special occasion or everyday use, there are lots of lovely blankets to choose from. Whatever the weather, here are just a few of my favourite cellular, fleece and knitted baby blankets as tried and tested by my little man.

Cellular Blankets

Hospitals have been wrapping up newborns in these trusty blankets for years. Their cell construction allows airflow and breathability which makes them safer for babies. It also means that they are great all year round – to keep your baby warm in winter but also cool in the summer months.

I bought a few of these soft cotton cellular blankets by Clair de Lune. They are great value and come in a selection of lovely colours. These blankets are made from 100% cotton and are really practical and soft. They are also available in two sizes – a small size which is perfect for a pram or moses basket, and a larger one to fit a cot or cot bed.

Fleece Blankets

When the days get shorter and colder in the winter months, I love to get snug as a bug under a velvety fleece blanket. So I went on the hunt to find mini sized fleece blankets to keep my little one nice and toasty too. I absolutely love the kids blankets from Zara Home. They look beautiful, feel luxuriously soft and the quality is amazing.

I bought two fleece blankets in Steel Blue – one has clouds and stars, and the other is plain with a gorgeous satin border. These exact designs may no longer be available, but fear not because there are lots of other lovely styles to choose from!

Blankets for Special Occasions

If you’re looking for something a bit more special, The White Company have some gorgeous blankets that come in a selection of lovely neutral and pastel colours. I received the Satin Edge Cellular Blanket in both White and Blue as a baby shower gift. The Knitted Patchwork Baby Blanket is also very beautiful, with its intricate detail, ribbed border and soft cotton material.
